Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Data Analyst to support financial year-end reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed expenditure reports for internal and external entities.

Extract and analyse financial data from databases and general ledger systems using SQL.

Conduct comprehensive transaction reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Perform reconciliations and identify discrepancies across multiple systems.

Investigate variances to support accurate and auditable financial reporting.

Assist in the preparation of financial note disclosures and audit-ready documentation.

Collaborate with procurement teams to validate payment listings and ensure compliance with audit standards.
Experience Required:
-
Recent experience in a government financial accounting environment.
-
Involvement in financial year-end processes for a government agency.
-
Proven ability to manage and analyse large volumes of transactional data.

Familiarity with external audit requirements and public sector reporting standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, and data modelling.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
-
High attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and ability to work independently under deadlines.
