Accountant – Food Imports – Salisbury SA

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are pleased to be working with a highly regarded and family-owned food importer and wholesaler who deals with a variety South Asian food products such as cookies, dairy products, drinks, snacks, frozen food products and many more.

They are now seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to take up an exciting opportunity working with their management team. This exciting opportunity offers excellent working conditions, professional development, and a supportive team environment.

The role is full-time and ongoing with a great salary in the range of $70k to $80k plus superannuation per annum.

Location – Salisbury SA

As their new Accountant your responsibilities will include –

Working with senior members of the organisation,

1. Investigating and preparing financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and aiding in asset management.
2. Investigating and preparation of the monthly management reporting pack by preparing monthly management reports such as freight, travel, marketing, and stock reports.
3. Formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
4. Ensure the continued appropriateness of internal controls, policies and procedures and regulatory compliance.
5. Review and update accounting manual procedures accordingly.
6. Development of systems & resources to streamline and automate processes and procedures of the business.
7. Ensure ongoing accuracy and preparation of the bank reconciliation process.
8. Preparing regulatory returns such as the monthly Business Activity Report, Fringe Benefit Tax return.
9. Overseeing all accounting ledger and reconciliations take place in a systemic and auditable way.
10. Ad hoc or special projects requested by management.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

1. At least 1 to 3 years’ professional (post training) experience as an Accountant.
2. Highly relevant tertiary qualifications.
3. Progress towards, or demonstrated interest in, professional accounting qualifications.
4. Proficient in contemporary accounting systems and the main office software suites.
5. Up-to-date knowledge about Australian taxation law and financial reporting requirements.
6. Attention to detail.
7. Good time management and communication skills.
8. Systematic and critical thinking skills.

You must have unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia.
