Our client has an 80 year history and is Australia's leading full service designer and manufacturer of switchrooms for the building services industry. They are seeking an experienced steel / structural detailer to join their team in Adelaide. This role offers a unique opportunity for a CAD professional passionate about steel structure design to be part of a cross functional engineering team designing and delivering products at the highest standards to their customers.
The role
- Collaborate with structural engineers to ensure accurate detailing
- Develop detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication based on architectural and engineering plans in Advance Steel / Tekla
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
- Identify and resolve issues related to detailing, fabrication, or construction during the design phase
- Collaborate with steel fabricators to address any concerns or questions related to the fabrication process
Key skills and experience required
- Likely technically trained with a Cert IV in Engineering Drafting, Diploma of Engineering or maybe even a Bachelor of Engineering but if you have significant experience as a structural detailer please reach out
- Proficient in 3D modelling with Tekla or Advance Steel
- Demonstrated experience with projects governed by AS1554 and AS5131 relating to detailing, fabrication and welding of steel structures and steel detailing, construction methods and their impact on design
