SPECIALISED ENGINEERING SERVICES
FULL TIME TRUCK DRIVER
Due to the expansions in our Kalgoorlie Operations, we are currently seeking a qualified full time Truck Driver.
The Position is Kalgoorlie based and NOT FIFO.
Must be able to pass D&A Test and Police Clearance
Must have a current driver’s license
Must have a Trade certificate
Key Responsibilities:

Driving and Delivery:
-
Operate trucks to transport goods over short or long distances.

Follow scheduled routes, making timely deliveries to customers or warehouses.

Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure the truck is in good working condition.

Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to maintenance teams or fleet managers.

Ensure the truck is fueled and prepared for the next delivery.

Loading and Unloading:

Assist in loading and unloading cargo when necessary, using equipment like forklifts, pallets, or hand trucks.

Ensure cargo is securely loaded to prevent damage during transport.

Manage the proper organization of goods in the vehicle to maximize space and efficiency.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including hours of service, mileage, and fuel consumption.

Handle bills of lading, shipping manifests, and other required paperwork for shipments.

Verify delivery documents, ensuring all goods are accounted for and properly signed for upon delivery.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper securing of cargo, use of seat belts, and defensive driving techniques.

Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, such as the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules regarding hours of service and vehicle inspections.

Ensure the truck meets all legal and safety requirements, including weight limits and hazardous material handling (if applicable).

Customer Service:

Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers, whether on the phone or in person during deliveries.

Resolve any delivery issues or delays in a timely manner.

Route Planning and Navigation:

Plan and adjust routes based on traffic conditions, road closures, and delivery schedules.

Use GPS or maps to navigate to destinations and ensure efficient travel.
Skills and Qualifications:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Required for operating large commercial trucks.

Physical Stamina and Endurance: Truck drivers need to handle long hours on the road and occasionally heavy lifting.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.

Time Management: Ability to manage delivery schedules and comply with deadlines.

Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve any issues that arise during the trip, such as delays or mechanical problems.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring the proper handling of goods and accurate documentation.
Working Conditions:

Truck drivers often work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the schedule.

The job may involve long-distance travel, sometimes requiring days or weeks away from home.

Truck drivers may face physical demands such as sitting for long periods, lifting heavy cargo, and driving in varying weather conditions.
This role plays a vital part in the supply chain, ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time.
Pay Rate between $45.00 & $55.00 per hour depending on experience.
