Job Description
The Electrical Supervisor at Newhaul Port Logistics is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance and reliability of the port’s conveyor systems, fixed plant, and other critical infrastructure. This role ensures that electrical systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
The Electrical Supervisor works closely with the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Supervisor, and HSE Advisor to implement preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoot faults, and coordinate electrical maintenance activities with minimal operational disruption. They lead by example, ensuring a strong safety culture, effective problem-solving, and continuous improvement in electrical maintenance processes.
Roster: 9-day fortnight working 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Reliability
- Ensure electrical systems are maintained for maximum reliability and efficiency.
- Reduce downtime with proactive maintenance and quick fault resolution.
- Complete > 95% of scheduled maintenance tasks on time.
Compliance & Safety Leadership
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all electrical safety standards.
- Manage electrical risks and ensure 100% compliance with safety regulations and testing requirements.
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Lead and coordinate the electrical team, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and provide feedback and development plans.
- Ensure 100% completion of training and competency requirements for all electricians.
Qualifications
- Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent)
- Current WA ‘A' Grade Electrical Licence
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and safe electrical practices
