About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Coordinator Building Services. This position will report to the Manager Planning and Building Services and supervisor Technical Officer – Swimming Pools and Aquatic Facilities.

The Coordinator Building Services will be responsible for coordinating the day to day functions of the Building services section at the Shire of Broome, this will include assessment and processing of building applications in a timely manner to ensure compliance with the Building Act and Regulations and overseeing the performance of the Shires pool barrier inspection program.

In addition, you will also be responsible for supervision and mentoring to the Technical Officer – Swimming Pools and Aquatic Facilities and support cross functional teams within the Development and Community Directorate.

About You:

The preferred candidate will have current WA drivers licence and registration as a Building Surveying Practitioner-Technician (or similar) and White Card (Basic Construction Industry Induction).

The Shire may also consider applicants with minimum of three years Building surveying experience and working towards ongoing personal and professional development and training as required.

Previous experience in a Local Government environment would be highly regarded.
