We are currently seeking a Lead Contracts Engineer to work with our Tier 1 Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers client.

This role is an initial 12-month contract with possible extensions and are based in Kwinana, WA project. There is the potential for some work from home, as well as the potential for occasional site visits. The position also may require a degree of inter-state travel from time to time, work reasonable additional hours and represent the division at industry functions and events.
In terms of requirements, this role would suit someone that has extensive experience working in a commercial, procurement or engineering background who is experienced in contract management role previously.
Specifically, we are seeking candidates with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a commercial, project management or engineering discipline &/or equivalent.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. CIPSA, IACCM, CPA/CA).
- 7yrs + experience in a commercial role with contractual, project management and financial analysis skills.
- Experience in the construction, chemicals, energy or mining industry.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in contract management.
- Demonstrated understanding and use of Capital Project Procurement methodologies.
- Experience in post award commercial activities. I.e. project execution support, program/claim/variation management, performance and dispute management.
- Highly developed understanding and application of the range of supplier relationship models to maximise the total cost benefits of commercial arrangements.
- Deep knowledge of the legal requirements and range of terms and conditions required for all forms of project goods and services arrangements.
- Experience in leading complex and strategically important negotiations including setting objectives and use of a wide range of tactics taking into consideration broad commercial and non-commercial factors.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to meet stakeholders' expectations and demands.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced planning and organizational skills.
- Report writing skills.
- Project Management skills.
- Proven leadership in ethical conduct includes setting standards and monitoring the ethical aspects of dealing with suppliers and contractors.
- Capability and self-sufficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint and knowledge of procurement systems such as Oracle eBusiness, JDE or similar.
