Your role:
As a Senior Technical Lead within our Managed Services team, you will serve as the dedicated technical authority for an enterprise client’s infrastructure in Perth.
Your primary responsibilities include ensuring their client's IT systems are optimally configured, secure, and aligned with strategic business objectives. This role demands a robust onsite presence and strong grasp over data center management, including compute, storage, backup, and VMWare environments, and management of virtual infrastructure in Azure Cloud.
Your key responsibilities:
- Maintaining and administering Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Monitoring and optimizing IT systems for performance, security, and scalability, focusing on a managed environment encompassing Azure Compute and Storage, Cloud-Native Backup Solutions, VMWare/Virtualisation in hybrid setups, and Scalable Cloud Architectures.
- Managing problem management processes and working day-to-day on investigations and resolution of escalated security and other IT issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Ensuring service quality through technical competence and attention to detail and striving for high levels of customer feedback scores.
- Leading coordination with internal teams and vendors for seamless service delivery, including close working relationships with customer IT leads at mine sites, head office, and vendors.
- Developing new strategies to increase efficiency in the systems and performing system analysis and recommending improvements with a focus on cloud optimization and hybrid interoperability.
Key skills required to be successful in the role:
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with advanced infrastructure and systems management skills
- Expertise in managing data centers, including strong capabilities in compute, storage, backup, and VMs, ensuring robust system reliability, scalability, and security.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, with good skills in Azure (essential) and familiarity with AWS (desirable) or GCP (desirable) alongside practical knowledge of virtualized environments such as VMWare.
- Experience acting as the final escalation point for complex/high impact issues and liaising with 3rd party vendors.
