The Pines Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis.
About Us:
The Pines Academy is a purpose-built early childhood centre located on Macquarie Road in Ingleburn, just minutes from the M5 freeway. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage building, we provide care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years (Long Day Care) as well as before/after school and vacation care for children up to Year 6. Our centre features age-appropriate rooms, three separate playgrounds, and a nurturing environment that blends tradition with innovation. We are currently focused on building a sustainability program involving children and families in the design of natural play spaces.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who will contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and structure learning experiences in both indoor and outdoor environments to support children’s development across all domains
- Promote language and literacy through storytelling, songs, role-play, and group discussions
- Facilitate social, emotional, and motor skill development through varied and engaging activities
- Monitor and observe children to assess developmental progress and identify any additional needs or concerns
- Ensure children's nutritional, health, welfare, and safety needs are met
- Build strong relationships with families and communicate regularly about children's progress
- Attend staff meetings, parent interviews, and participate in community/family engagement programs
- Supervise and support student teachers during placement
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working in an early childhood setting
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach to teaching
- Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, and Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain)
Salary:
$70,000 – $80,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
