About this Role
We currently have a terrific opportunity for a driven and skilled individual to lead our Sporting Reserves Team.
In this role you will lead the Sporting Reserve Maintenance Team through:
- Proactive planning maintenance and renovation programs including procurement of materials and contractors to ensure the delivery of key sports turf maintenance practices across all Latrobe City Sporting Reserves.
- Lead the preparation of playing surfaces for the hosting of local, regional and elite sporting events such as local Cricket, Soccer and Australian Rules Football finals series, WBBL & BBL, AFLW & AFL, A-League & W-League.
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure that requests are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Promote a positive culture of Occupational Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements of the role, minimising public risk and exercising due diligence.
- Regularly set objectives and review staff performance, identifying training and development opportunities for improving performance, effectiveness and job satisfaction.
About You
In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to the presentation, livability, and safety of our community through the delivery of sports turf maintenance. Your expertise will see you confidently provide advice and to serve your community to the best of your ability.
You will have:
- Diploma or other formal qualifications in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management or a related area and/or extensive experience in these areas of operations.
- Detailed knowledge of the playing surface requirements of each respective sport, and pride yourself on producing and presenting high quality playing surfaces for the community.
- Ability to provide turf management training.
- A current Chemical Spraying license and the ability to apply these skills as required.
- Current Victorian driver’s license
- Current industry white card.
- Current Medium Rigid License (desirable)
- Previous professional experience in the maintenance and preparation of turf cricket wickets (desirable).
- Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate (desirable).
- Certificate in Workplace Supervision or Leadership (desirable).
