Description:
Mars Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join an excellent team on a locum basis in Regional South Australia! This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with children aged 0-7 years , or a mixed caseload consisting of paediatrics and aged care clients. You will be at the forefront of providing culturally safe, client-centered care to the community, ensuring that diverse populations, including Aboriginal families, receive appropriate and responsive services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply an increasing understanding of the needs of rural, culturally diverse, and Aboriginal communities.
- Ensure clients receive culturally sensitive Occupational Therapy services, grounded in principles of social justice and community participation.
- Identify and address clinical and individual needs of target groups within at-risk populations.
- Utilise SA Health service prioritisation and eligibility criteria to meet clinical service demands based on individual needs.
- Support clients, caregivers, and families throughout the Patient Journey by providing thorough assessments, timely referrals, and coordinated care.
- Ensure effective intake, prioritisation, and service delivery in line with the SA Health Access Framework, considering each client's socio-economic circumstances.
- Treat all clients with respect, be responsive to their needs, and act on opportunities to enhance customer service in your operational area.
- Promote cultural safety by valuing and addressing the cultural needs of the community.
- Contribute to patient-journey improvements by applying client-centered practice and community engagement principles, ensuring clients are meaningfully involved in all aspects of their care.

Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- General AHPRA with no restrictions
- Experience working with paediatric clients and understanding of NDIS frameworks.
- Passion for working with children or older adults and wanting to improve their livelihoods
- Excellent communication and organisational skills to manage intake, referrals, and follow-up care.
- WWCC and NDIS workers screening checks
- Recent National Police Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Australian working rights- Working Holikday Visa's Welcome!
