About The RoleAs our Manager, Regional Agribusiness Development you will:
Utilise regional economic development networks, including within DPI and other state agencies, local councils and industry stakeholders, to deliver a suite of services to help the agricultural industry and enterprises improve supply chains; grow their business and contribute to the regional economy. Identify new agricultural industry development opportunities specific to the region and develop projects and lead multidisciplinary teams to respond to, and deliver on, these opportunities. Lead the delivery of regional projects and activities and relevant state-wide initiatives on behalf of the RED Team when required. Mentor, guide, lead and develop staff in a changing environment to deliver upon rural economic development priorities in the region and across Queensland. Contribute as part of the DPI natural disaster response to quantify impacts and ensure that agribusinesses recover quickly following a natural disaster event.
You may also have
Knowledge of agricultural production systems and ability to apply this knowledge for economic growth. Apply research and analytical skills to gain information, data and background to support decisions, project outcomes and inform briefing material. Experience in the management of staff and project outcomes. Ability to travel and undertake work remotely. Demonstrable ability to work independently.
