Salary: Competitive, based on experience (includes work vehicle)

Join a Progressive, Family-Owned Cropping Operation

We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Farm Operations Assistant to join our modern irrigated and dryland cropping enterprise located between Gunnedah and Boggabri, NSW.

You will work directly with management and a small team to help deliver consistent, high-quality crop production across our diverse farming operation.

This role offers long-term career potential , with opportunities to grow within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in field preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting

  • Operate and maintain a variety of farm machinery and equipment

  • Run irrigation systems including lateral moves and siphons

  • Perform general farm maintenance and weed control

  • Operate combine harvester, telehandler, forklift, self-propelled and optical sprayer, earthmoving equipment, spreader, row crop and broad-acre 12 metre planting implements.

  • Maintain accurate records using Agworld or similar systems

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong initiative and planning ability

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow

  • Attention to detail, with good time and task management

  • Respect for people, livestock, machinery, and safety

  • Experience in farming operations preferred, but not essential

  • Accurate record-keeping and digital literacy

Hamcott is a progressive, family-owned cropping business located in the fertile Coxs Creek Valley near Boggabri, NSW.

  • 300 ha of irrigated summer crops (cotton, corn)

  • 300 ha of irrigated winter crops (canola, barley, durum)

  • 200 ha of dryland crops annually

  • A small beef cattle herd
