The Cronulla Sharks Rugby League Football Club has been an integral part of the Sutherland Shire community and the National Rugby League (NRL) since our establishment in 1967. A proud and passionate club, our most significant achievement came in 2016, when we were crowned NRL Premiers for the first time in our 50-year history.
In 2023, the Cronulla Sharks proudly expanded into the NRLW, and in only our second season, the team reached a major milestone by becoming Grand Finalists in 2024—an outstanding achievement and a testament to the talent, dedication, and spirit of our club.
The role
We are preparing for our 2025 season and are on the hunt for a passionate physio to join our team on a volunteer basis as the NRLW Assistant Physiotherapist.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering suitable treatment, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning programs for players recovering from injury. This is to be done in consultation with relevant NRLW Head Coach, Head Academy/Junior Rep Physiotherapist, NRL Performance Manager Medical Trainer and Doctor.
- Provide up to date reports on injured players and expected return to training and play estimates.
- Keep up to date and accurate records for all injured players.
- Attendance at up to 3-4 training sessions per week as well as competition matches.
- Where necessary, assist with the delivery of strength and conditioning sessions.
- In conjunction with other trainers strap players and prepare and clean drink bottles, tubs, etc. at training and on game days.
- Act as Game Day Trainer/Runner
- Assist with warm up for training and game day.
- Conduct extra sessions for players when required.
- Ensure that all facilities are locked at the completion of training
- Reasonable requests from Academy Physiotherapist, Head Coach, Academy Manager and NRL Performance Manager
Essential Requirements
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Drivers Licence
- Previous experience working in a similar role
