What You’ll Be Doing – Your Role in Action!
As our Scaffold Technical Lead , you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our operations — ensuring every structure is designed with efficiency, safety, and innovation in mind.
Technical Duties:

Lead the design of complex scaffold structures using LayPLAN CAD, ensuring compliance with relevant standards

Provide technical input into scaffold methodology and erection sequences

Translate engineering designs into practical, safe, buildable plans

Perform load analysis, tie-in points planning, bay configurations, and structure assessments
-
Interpret and review formwork and access drawings for coordination with other trades
-
Conduct site measurements and generate scaffold schematics tailored to project conditions

Work closely with third-party engineers to validate scaffold designs when required
Operational Support:

Coach and mentor scaffold teams on best practices and safe build methods

Lead scaffold handovers, onsite inspections, and compliance checks
-
Oversee and update Scaffold Register, HREF compliance and inspection records
-
Run toolbox talks, performance discussions, and weekly supervisor meetings
-
Provide Layher system training through induction content and site familiarisation
-
Work with site and project managers to anticipate and meet access needs
Your Expertise!
-
Extensive scaffolding knowledge, especially with modular systems (Layher preferred)
-
Proven ability to design and document scaffold builds using CAD platforms
-
Understanding of scaffold load classes, leg load distribution, anchorage, and bracing
-
Ability to assess structural elements for scaffold anchorage and stability
-
Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian scaffolding standards
-
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
-
Strong communication skills — able to bridge the gap between site teams and engineering
-
Previous site experience in scaffolding and temporary works design highly regarded
