Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
CGH Medical Imaging Department provides a wide range of imaging services including, general x-ray, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, bone density scanning, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine. Services are conveniently offered over 2 locations - one within the CGH grounds and the other in the Sale CBD. CGH also offer Breastscreen and Echocardiography. The department is very well equipped with all equipment meeting Medicare capital sensitivity requirements. CGH also provides medical imaging services at Raymond St and Fulham correctional Centre.
About the Role
You are to provide and interpret a range of medical imaging examinations for diagnosis and management of medical conditions for patients/clients of the Medical Imaging department of Central Gippsland Health and optimizing diagnostic quality whilst maintaining radiation safety.
This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system.
Duties

Perform a range of radiological examinations and procedures with a focus on providing exceptional patient care

Ensure the accurate and timely acquisition of diagnostic imaging studies.

Collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care

Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation

Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and radiation safety protocols

Participating in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Degree in medical radiation science or equivalent qualification.

Eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Radiographer

Certificate of Proficiency in Mammography is preferred but not essential

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and colleagues

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
