Who we are looking for
Join us as a Treatment Operations Officer where you will learn a range of functions that contribute to the smooth operations of delivering water and sewerage services to our community.
We have a position available as a Treatment Operations Officer in an ongoing, full-time position located in Portland. This role comes with a salary of $68,260.47 to $73,805.37 p.a. plus superannuation.
You'll be supported by a great team, have access to extensive training opportunities and attractive flexibility options.
What you'll be doing
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be:
- Monitoring the operation and maintenance of water supply and wastewater systems, particularly treatment facilities
- Ensuring our customers receive reliable and dependable services
- Preparing standard reports and maintaining record-keeping systems
- Completing work orders within our computerised work management systems
- Trouble-shooting and problem solving in plant operations
- Conducting some field-based work, and some indoor work
- Assessing risk and following our Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
What you’ll bring
We're looking for someone with
- An interest in the operation of water and sewage treatment facilities
- The ability to apply your skills and previous experience to the role
- Energy, enthusiasm and a genuine curiosity to learn and develop
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and interpret malfunctions in facilities, systems and processes or plant
- Proficiency in applying relevant standard procedures and practices and keep accurate and up-to-date records
- The ability to operate plant and equipment that requires a limited degree of skill or adaptation
You may have a trade, tertiary qualification or prior experience in the water or sewerage treatment field, or relevant practical experience in another industry.
