About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to join our operations team based at Lilydale and play an integral part in supporting families and stakeholders through the delivery of a range of services.
This role is the entry level for the Cemetery Operations Officer – Burial role. New staff will complete a training needs analysis upon commencement and undertake training within their first 12 months of employment to progress to a Level 3 which includes duties such as excavation, elevated work platform operation and shoring.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assist the team with day-to-day operations such as grave set up & presentation
- Identifying and checking accurately, the location of a grave site
- Tractor trailer operation.
- Assist families and stakeholders with on-ground queries
- Ensure that all burials & cremations occur as per The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust policy
- Safety first: actively contribute to a workplace culture where OHS is given highest priority in all activities
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a similar or comparable role
- Current Victorian driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Machinery tickets such as excavator licence (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- People-focused communication and interpersonal skills
- Someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a team environment
