ISH24 are specialists in Rescue, Confined Space & Workplace Safety Services, also operating as a RTO (ID 41559) for confined space, working at heights, first aid, rescue and other nationally accredited training.
We are seeking a safety-focused individual to join our Bendigo team to assist with confined space management & rescue support operations with the capability to deliver nationally accredited training for clients on sites locally and interstate.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, have great communication skills, a professional attitude and a personal commitment to ensuring safety in the workplace. Flexibility to travel for work is essential, with availability for occasional weekend work, as some client sites are in remote areas and/or interstate locations.
Operational Duties & Responsibilities:

Rescue support, confined space and working at heights management on client sites across Victoria (with occasional FIFO engagements interstate)

Acting as a worksite emergency response and rescue team member. Various experience and skills in rescue will be advantageous with additional rescue training and skills maintenance to be provided on the job

Hands-on maintenance and installation of working at heights equipment, gas detection, BA and other safety equipment testing

Labouring, specifically maintenance and cleaning of confined spaces and at heights, possibly working under BA

Knowledge in site safety services including developing rescue plans, carrying out site safety inspections, SWMS writing, permit issuing

Assisting in the Bendigo workshop & on client sites with equipment servicing, maintenance, inspections, inventory management, etc.

Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested

Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

Trainer/ Assessor Competency Requirements:
Ability to deliver training (accredited or non-accredited) in safety and rescue, including any of the below units:

RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in confined spaces

RIIWHS204E - Work safely at heights

MSMWHS216 - Operate breathing apparatus

MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmospheres

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

HLTAID014 - Provide Advanced First Aid

HLTAID015 - Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

UETDRMP007- Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel

MSMPER300 - Issue work permits

MSMWHS201 - Conduct hazard analysis
· Fire Extinguisher & Fire Warden Training
Courses above range in duration between 1/2 day to 2 days.
Trainers with experience in delivering Rescue Training (specifically disciplines falling within the Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue) and other relevant courses would also be highly regarded. Rescue training courses range between 2 and 8 days.

Competency in all the above disciplines is not essential. Successful candidates will undergo ISH24 training in-house as part of the trainer/assessor onboarding process with ongoing on-the-job training and professional development opportunities available.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a hands-on role and will possess the following:

Experience in the performance of Sentry & confined space duties, working at height, gas testing & monitoring, rescue standby and working in accordance with an issued permit.

Experience in CPR & First Aid support including Advanced First Aid

Knowledgeable of HSE procedures and the ability to formulate SWMS and TBT
-
High level of organisation, attention to detail and excellent time management skills as a large part of the role will require working autonomously.

Proactive, with a “can do” attitude and great communication skills, both verbal and written

Essential Requirements:
To be the right fit for this role, the successful candidate will have:
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent

Ability to deliver training at ISH24 Training Facilities (Bendigo & Goornong) and on client sites across Victoria & interstate.

Valid driver’s licence (with no restrictions)
-
Hold a WorkSafe approved construction induction card (white card)

Ability to provide clear police check and working with children card
-
Australian residency with unrestricted work rights
Desirable qualifications:

RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue

BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
