Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Coordinator - Development Engineering
Salary: $112,511.36 per annum

Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our Engineering and Assets Department as Coordinator Development Engineering.
This role primarily comprises:
- Lead the Development Engineering Team to achieve performance objectives in the Council Plan and relevant Service Plans.
- Provide complex technical advice and guidance to the development engineering team and other Council departments
- Ensuring that all development works comply with the technical and environmental standards of Council including placement of technical and environmental conditions on planning permits and building development applications.
- Response to technical development referrals from internal and external clients.
- Ensuring appropriate co-ordination with all departments in the organisation on all related development matters.
- Managing the engagement of consultancy support services.
- Assisting in the preparation of Council’s budget in relation to development.
- Ensure that new assets obtained as part of the above, and private developments are presented in a format suitable for inclusion in Council’s Asset Management System
- Coordinate the preparation and implementation of stormwater drainage strategies
- Liaise with developers to improve Council’s development standards and requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the Council’s Development Manual
- Prepare Council’s Drainage Asset Management Plan and ensure water sensitive urban design principles are understood and implemented throughout the whole organisation.
Effective communication skills to prepare reports, policies and documents, to collaborate with various stakeholders and to deliver exceptional customer service will also ensure your success in this role.
