About the role
As a Community Safety Parking Officer , you’ll be on the frontlines helping to maintain safe, accessible streets across Yarra Ranges. This is a customer-focused, mobile role responsible for educating the public and enforcing parking regulations under the Road Safety Road Rules, Road Safety Act, and Road Regulations.
You’ll support our proactive and reactive parking programs by conducting patrols, issuing infringements and warnings, responding to public requests, and keeping accurate records. Working within a small team, you’ll also assist with technology-based enforcement tools such as licence plate recognition systems.

Band 4 role with a hourly rate from $35.93 to $37.58 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.

Part Time Temporary Position (30.4 hours per fortnight) – This position may include weekend work
Experience and skills we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, and adaptable. You will have:

Demonstrated prior experience & knowledge of the Road Safety Road Rules and Evidence Production.

A passion for engaging with the public and delivering respectful, clear communication

Confidence to work independently in the field and remain calm under pressure

A high level of attention to detail for issuing infringements and maintaining accurate records

Good time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities or environments

Comfortable using mobile technology and updating digital systems

A current driver’s licence and the ability to obtain required compliance-related certifications
