The Opportunity:
As the Employee Relations Manager, you will lead a team of 2 ER Specialists and 2 HR Advisors in shaping and implementing a proactive Employee Relations strategy. This is a unique opportunity to move beyondreactive case management and build a future-focused ER function.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement effective ER strategies and roadmaps, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Build essential systems and processes, including toolkits for managers and policy updates.
- Leverage data insights to identify trends, understand employee turnover drivers, and proactively address ER risks (partnering with a Data Analyst).
- Provide accurate advice on award interpretation and actively participate in salary reviews.
- Build strong relationships with managers and identify capability gaps to champion a proactive approach to people management.
- Extensive ER experience (7+ years) with a deep understanding of Australian employment law and Fair Work Commission processes.
- Proven ability to develop and implement ER strategies and drive tangible results.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in developing HR/ER systems, workflows, reporting mechanisms, and toolkits.
- Data literacy and analytical acumen to identify trends and inform proactive strategies.
- Project management expertise to handle multiple initiatives, including strategy implementation and policy revamps.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to build strong relationships across all levels.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and innovative approach to ER.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities to develop managers' people management capability.
- Resilience and adaptability to manage a high-volume caseload while building strategic frameworks.
- Genuine commitment to values of Passionate, Respectful, Ethical, Curious, and Courageous, and a passion for diversity, inclusion, and equitable opportunities.
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree or higher in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Business, Law, or Commerce.
- Experience in a service delivery or operational sector.
- Experience with Enterprise Agreements and remuneration benchmarking.
- Familiarity with the NDIS Code of Conduct, Practice Standards, and Quality and Safeguarding Commission's regulatory framework.
