You alone are responsible for the trade sales results in NSW. You'll be working with a great manager who is practical and trusts you to do your job. You'll also dovetail into the NSW specification and builders sales team by following up on projects that are going to be serviced by your merchants and hardware store
This is an opportunity to put your plan in place and execute it. Primarily, you will be working autonomously, while you are part of the larger NSW sales team, you will be working within your own channel and trade sales portfolio of customers.
You manage your time and your call cycle and report to your manager on issues and results. You have all the required tools such as a CRM, marketing and branding support and peers around the country in a similar role.

Our client is a classic manufacturer and supplier of plumbing building materials, they have well-known brands and high-quality products across their portfolio. They have both local manufacturing and an imported product range. A rare thing these days - the best of both worlds! My client is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to drive sales with their retail and trade customers.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and grow positive relationships with the existing customer base of hardwares, plumbing merchants, contractors
- Extract the maximum share of wallet with each customer
- Create demand for the product range by discussing the product with trades, builders, TAFE students and engineers
- Work closely with your peers in the NSW sales team to leverage sales opportunities with home builders and their contractors
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies
- Achieve agreed sales targets and goals, via a solid plan and execution of that plan
- Sales negotiations with business owners, purchasing officers, trades and merchants
- Launch, educate and train customers on new and existing product ranges
- Find opportunities to further increase sales and deliver on those opportunities
- Manage a regular call cycle and drive a clear business strategy for your area
- Experience selling to trade customers (preferred experience with major hardware stores, plumbing merchants and trades)
- Friendly and professional approach
- Territory management and account plan
- Strong administration, PC skills
- Negotiation skills and excellent rapport with customers
- Able to take accountability and resolve customer problems
- Be prepared to delight your customers by exceeding their expectations
