A small, remote outback town in far western New South Wales, known for its unique underground living and opal mining history. Established in the late 19th century during Australia's first commercial opal rush, the town remains famous for its dugout homes, where some residents live underground to escape the heat. The landscape is dotted with opal fields and old mining shafts, giving it a rugged, otherworldly charm. Visitors can explore opal mines, stay in underground accommodations, and experience the stunning outback scenery. The town also has a rich Indigenous heritage, with the local Paakantji people having lived in the region for thousands of years.
To be eligible, you must have the following:
- Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- Minimum of 12 months ED experience required
- Triage experience required
- ALS certification
- All nursing competencies up to date
- Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship)
