We are seeking a proactive and reliable Logistic and Stores Assistant to join our Warehouse and Mailroom team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of mail, goods, equipment, and furniture across UQ campuses. You’ll be working in a collaborative team environment, supporting daily operations and providing exceptional service to our internal stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a passion for logistics and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities will include:

Receiving, storing, selecting, processing and dispatching a wide range of products and equipment to meet operational needs.

Coordinating the preparation and dispatch of both internal and external mail.

Transporting and relocating furniture across UQ campuses, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.

Supporting inventory control and warehouse operations through accurate record keeping, data entry, report preparation, and general enquiry management.

Picking, packing, and timely delivery of Stores orders to customers.

Managing the transportation of library materials and goods between campuses.
-
Contributing to the upkeep and improvement of warehouse standards.

Providing assistance across all aspects of warehouse and mailroom operations, with flexibility to adapt as required.

Backfilling for colleagues and supporting the team with other duties as directed by supervisors; Warehouse, Mailroom and Operations Logistics.

Completion of a year 12 certificate, or a Certificate II and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of
-
relevant experience and/or education/training
-
Knowledge and experience in the operations of warehousing, couriering, furniture removals and mail operations is desirable
-
Sound interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment with well-developed customer service skills in delivering services to building occupants
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate/liaise with a wide variety of University staff Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and restraint in the face of unfair criticism
-
Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
-
Must possess a Current Queensland Open Drivers Licence.

Forklift licence preferred
-
Experience with the standard Microsoft office computer applications is preferred
-
Experience with a computerised warehouse/ inventory/ transport management system and the ability to learn new computer applications would be advantageous
-
Working at heights licence would be advantageous
-
Sound knowledge of University of Queensland Campuses would be advantageous
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia
