An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Process Control Engineer to join our Capricorn Copper operation in Queensland. In this role, you will report to the Planning, Compliance, & Control Systems Lead and work on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on maintaining and optimising the site's distributed control system (DCS) to reduce process variance, support operations, and drive process improvements.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing and optimising the site’s DCS for reliable plant operation.
- Overseeing system maintenance, updates, licensing, and liaising with the DCS OEM (Rockwell).
- Driving automation and control improvements to reduce process variability and boost efficiency.
- Delivering project management and technical input for DCS-related CAPEX and upgrades.
- Collaborating with site and group teams to share knowledge and improve performance.
- Providing remote support during the wet season, with time off in lieu (TOIL) offered in the dry season.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in process control, including expertise with DCS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Honeywell, Citect), as well as operational experience in a base metals or similar concentrator.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Control Systems or Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in delivering control system development and / or optimisation projects.
- Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
