Description:
Full Stack Developer – Python | React | Complex Problem SolvingBrisbane | Hybrid | Competitive Salary
Are you the kind of developer who enjoys building elegant solutions to messy, complex problems? Do you get a kick out of crafting high-performance systems that make a real-world impact? If so, I’m working with a client that’s going to be right up your alley.
I’m hiring on behalf of a seriously smart and low-ego team working at the intersection of optimisation, mathematics, and software engineering. They're not a standard product shop — their work is highly tailored, often built for a small set of expert users, and designed to solve truly unique planning and scheduling challenges across logistics, infrastructure, energy and beyond.
What you’ll be doing:
You'll join a cross-functional delivery team, collaborating with engineers, data scientists and domain experts to build web-based applications powered by serious mathematical brains (think complex algorithms packaged in intuitive UIs). You’ll work across the stack, helping architect, develop, and ship systems that are fast, reliable, and genuinely useful.
Expect greenfield work, architectural problem-solving, and the kind of technical depth that keeps things interesting. The apps you build won’t just look good — they’ll be mission-critical tools used by clients solving some of the toughest operational challenges in their industries.
What’s in their stack?
- Backend: Python (Django), Postgres
- Frontend: React + TypeScript
- DevOps/Infra: GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes (EKS), Infrastructure as Code
- API contracts: OpenAPI Spec for strong client-server integration
What they’re looking for:
Must-haves:
- Solid experience in full stack web application development
- Strong Python skills (ideally with Django)
- Confident building with React and TypeScript
- Experience with Postgres or similar relational databases
- A strong grasp of modern dev practices – CI/CD, version control, testing, etc.
- Great communication skills and a user-first mindset – you think about how your work impacts real people
- An interest in mentoring or supporting more junior devs in the team
Nice-to-haves:
- Exposure to optimisation, planning, or scheduling problems
- Experience with containerisation (Kubernetes, EKS)
- Consulting or client-facing project experience
Why this role?
- Work that’s challenging, meaningful, and full of variety
- Tight-knit, collaborative team culture – smart people, zero egos
- Flexible hybrid working
- Salary range of $120K–$140K + super for the right candidate
- The chance to work on projects that truly move the needle for businesses and communities
