Marketing Manager
Position Summary:
This exciting and fast-growing organisation is seeking a creative and commercially minded Marketing Manager to join its team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a crucial part in advancing the brand through effective brand positioning, innovative product development, and creative digital marketing campaigns. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring you to lead the marketing plan and implement new initiatives with technical expertise.
In addition to core marketing responsibilities, you will lead New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept to launch, working cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders and international suppliers (particularly in China) to bring innovative new products to market. You will also oversee and mentor a Marketing Specialist, making strong leadership and team collaboration essential.
This role requires someone with e-commerce experience who is digitally minded and proficient in a range of digital platforms, including Shopify, Meta, Klaviyo, and HubSpot.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Management:
  • Ensure consistency in visual identity, tone of voice, and messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines and assets in collaboration with internal and external designers.
  • Drive the development of brand positioning, including brand story development and rollout.
  • Partner with internal teams to embed the brand positioning into product development, packaging, and customer experience.
  • Manage internal and external communication plans to ensure seamless brand positioning.
New Product Development (NPD):
  • Lead the end-to-end development of new products, including ideation, concept creation, prototyping, and final production.
  • Develop robust business cases for new products or opportunities, encompassing competitive analysis, pricing strategies, and margin analyses.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, including design, sales, operations, and logistics, to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Liaise with Operations to manage communication with manufacturers, primarily in China, and oversee sampling, lead times, compliance, and production timelines.
  • Oversee timelines and critical paths to ensure projects stay on budget and meet launch deadlines.
  • Lead and manage the timeline and rollout of branded material in core range items.
Digital Marketing:
  • Mentor the Marketing Specialist in designing and creating engaging marketing content across digital channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram).
  • Oversee the execution of paid advertising campaigns (Meta and LinkedIn) and provide strategic direction.
  • Manage and oversee the marketing budget.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, including strategy and implementation.
  • Help create and maintain website updates, including product listings, image uploads, descriptions, SEO tagging, and product categorisation.
  • Lead the development and execution of seasonal campaigns, including product launches, promotions, and gifting periods.
  • Constantly seek new, better, and more efficient ways to do marketing in the e-commerce world.
Team Management:
  • Manage and mentor a direct report (Marketing Specialist), providing clear direction, support, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and team-oriented culture.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and seasonal plans.
  • Lead cross-functional communication to ensure marketing, product, and sales strategies are delivered on time and in full.
Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar e-commerce marketing and product development role.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing at both strategic and hands-on levels, including Meta Advertising, creating email campaigns, and Shopify.
  • Proven experience managing NPD projects from idea generation through to product launch.
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning strategy and implementation.
  • Experience coordinating project teams to launch new products.
  • Experience working with international suppliers, particularly in China.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), or similar design platforms.
  • Familiarity with EDM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp) and social media scheduling tools like Later.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in brand repositioning and new brand rollouts, managing internal and external communication plans to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members.
