Ravenswood Gold is seeking an experienced Safety Superintendent to lead and support a high-performing team and drive a culture of safety excellence across our mining operations.About The Role
Reporting to the Safety and Training Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of OHS professionals, supporting operational leaders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and embedding a culture of safety and continuous improvement across Ravenswood Gold.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Ravenswood Site.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, coaching and support to the health and safety team and wider site operations. Maintain and continuously improve the Mine Safety Management System and HSE policies. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Provide expert health and safety advice to operational and functional leaders. Develop and deliver safety initiatives and improvement strategies across departments. Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders, regulators and external partners. Coordinate compliance reporting, audits and contractor safety requirements. Manage return-to-work processes and workers compensation claims. Champion a safety-first culture through mentoring, communication, and workforce engagement.
What We’re Looking For
Recognised qualifications in Work Health and Safety (Diploma minimum; post-graduate qualifications desirable). At least 5 years’ experience in health and safety within the mining industry. Demonstrated leadership capability and experience developing high-performing teams. Strong understanding of WHS regulatory and legislative requirements. Experience with safety management systems and HSE reporting tools. Competency in incident investigation (ICAM or similar) and auditing. Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable But Not Essential
Experience in open pit mining operations. First Aid or emergency response qualifications. Auditing, noise, or ventilation qualifications. Membership with professional health and safety associations.
