Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is seeking an experience IT Officer to join our talented team at our Cairns waterfront hotel.
The Hotel
Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.
The Role
Reporting to our Area IT Manager, you will provide technology support services on a day-to-day basis to all computer system users of the hotel.
About You:
- Ensures all computer system users adhere to system security guidelines
- Coordinates new user log on or access requirements in a timely manner
- Coordinates internal and external training requirements
- Has a sound and thorough knowledge of IT systems used in hotels including systems such as Opera and Infrasys
- Provides help desk and IT support to users ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions are assigned
- Can work autonomously to prioritise and manage multiple cases and can escalates faults as required
- Support the installation and configuration of computer operating systems, software applications, printers, copies, scanners and other IT devices
- Can competently perform network/systems administrative functions including maintaining user accounts and monitoring the health of network equipment
- Maintains IT equipment inventory
- Troubleshoots system and network problems
- Conducts programmed hardware maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring equipment, consumables and other IT supplies are kept at PAR levels
- Monitors the network security to advise Senior Management of any breaches
