Dairy Farm Manager – King Island, Tasmania
King Island Dairy Group comprises King Island Dairy Farms and the renowned King Island Dairy – home to award-winning artisan cheese. Recently under new ownership, the group is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. With strong backing from an Australian-owned family business, we are investing in state-of-the-art technology, including new automatic milking stations to complement our existing rotary infrastructure.
We operate across two farms covering 1,700 hectares, milking 1,400 cows. One farm is focused on spring calving, the other on autumn, providing a dynamic year-round dairy operation. Located on King Island, Tasmania – a pristine environment known for its ideal dairy climate – our farms offer a truly unique setting to grow your dairy career.

About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented leader to oversee daily operations and drive continuous improvement across both farms.
Key responsibilities:

Manage farm staff, including assistant managers and farmhands

Oversee herd health, pasture management, feeding, and milk production

Manage the milking system and ensure all regulations are adhered to regarding milk quality, safety in the dairy and effluent management

Implement stock rotations, feed budgets, and seasonal planning
-
Maintain infrastructure, water systems, fencing, and machinery
-
Ensure compliance with safety, welfare, and environmental standards
-
Report on farm performance and contribute to long-term business strategy

Coordinate with contractors and King Island Dairy’s in-house support team

Embrace and lead the rollout of new technology, including AMS and Halter
Experience
