The Role

Deliver and implement strategic category management plans and supporting processes across TasWater. The role includes a focus on Digital and Technology category management planning and implementation to support and improve existing infrastructure and new technology adoption. Through strategic business partnering with stakeholders and suppliers, deliver sourcing category strategies across the contract life cycle to generate sustainable value for TasWater.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, ensuring alignment between sourcing strategies and organisational goals throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Monitor and report on supplier performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive measures to address identified issues

  • Prepare reports and presentations to stakeholders across TasWater to provide category management insights and inform future strategic plans

  • Contribute to cultivating a high-performing, customer-centric, and innovative supply chain team

  • Work closely with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial partnerships, ensuring sustainable value creation and continuous improvement in sourcing performance.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder and supplier management skills, capable of developing and executing category management plans. The ideal candidate will have expertise in driving sourcing strategies, managing the contract lifecycle, and delivering sustainable value to the business.

  • Degree or direct equivalent experience in Law, Business, Commerce, Supply Chain or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience managing supply and services contracts as well as Panel Agreements.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing information and digital technology contracts or procurement.

  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive collaborative sourcing strategies.

  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional team engagement, with high-level negotiation and influential skills.

  • Identifying and mitigating risks within the supply chain and procurement processes to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.

The Details

This role can be based in either Hobart or Launceston and attracts a salary of $124,474 - $152,134 (inclusive of superannuation), The advertised salary range depends on experience, with compensation varying based on your skills and qualifications.
