Reporting to the Retail Coordinator – Northern Suburbs, this role will oversee the day-to-day operational management of the Hobart City Mission Moonah Mega-Store, which spans over 1800sqm. You'll lead a dynamic team of Store Supervisors, a Retail Trainee, and a large group of volunteers, providing mentorship and fostering a supportive team environment.
City Mission Op Shops strive to reduce waste, provide quality second-hand products, and provide a place of connection and community engagement for customers and volunteers.
Income generated through City Mission Op Shops help to fund Hobart City Mission's programs, allowing us to support vulnerable people in our Southern Tasmanian Community. This means you can do a job you love whilst helping those in need!
About the role :
- Lead and support a diverse team, including Store Supervisors and a Retail Trainee
- Oversee stock management: ordering, pricing, visual merchandising, and rotation
- Build relationships, coach and mentor staff and volunteers through regular feedback, supervision, and performance reviews
- Monitor sales performance and meet store targets
- Foster a collaborative, informed, and positive team culture through open communication and participation in team meetings and planning
About you:
- Relevant retail experience/skills/knowledge (charity retail not necessary)
- Experience coaching and mentoring a large team using your effective communication skills
- A can-do attitude, strong organisational skills with the desire to maximise the success of the store
- Experience managing a large retail store with multiple departments (desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of volunteer management (desirable)
- A creative edge with an interest in bringing a bit of fun to your workplace!
