About the Role
The Bringing Baby Home Program is a unique service working closely with Child Safety and other stakeholders to deliver accommodation and intensive support over a 12 week period. The Bringing Baby Home Team are protective adults for the infant in the home whilst the Child Safety Service assesses parental capacity to safely care for the highly vulnerable infant. The support provided to families over the 12 weeks is tailored to the infant and family’s needs and includes, but is not limited to, in-home parenting support, support in establishing and implementing routines, managing finances, completing referrals to internal and external service supports and establishing community connections to support sustainable changes.
About You
The successful applicant will;
- Create a safe environment for parents and children that encourages engagement, as well as a unified and positive team approach to achieving the goals of the family including reducing or removing the need for ongoing service involvement.
- Apply extensive knowledge of practice, theory and legislation to enhance practice, procedures and policies, promote innovation, and identify new ways of working from recognised sites of excellence with a focus on building on capacity within families and increasing safety for children.
- Demonstrate experience working in child/parent focussed programs and services for children, parents and their families who have complex needs.
- Demonstrate experience engaging with multidisciplinary team and stakeholders within the child and family services sector
- Sound understanding of key infant and child development and the factors that can impede a child’s development, and an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable parents in their ability to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children.
You will be required to hold a current Registration to work with Vulnerable Persons and current Australian driver’s license.
