About the Role

Our Personal, Family and Relationship Counselling Program focuses on the individual client whilst holding in mind a purposeful approach to building capacity and improving relationships with key people in the client’s life.

As a Family and Relationship Counsellor, you will work with individuals across the lifespan with a broad range of presenting issues and this may include: providing a range of focused psychological strategies to individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues; working with couples experiencing relationship issues or seeking to separate; providing parenting skills and education sessions; family counselling; working with individual children and young people; and/or timely counselling to our EAP clients. There are also opportunities to facilitate group programs. The diverse range of client presentations provides the opportunity to work within a great team in your area of expertise.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience in working with individuals and families which may include grief and loss, substance use issues, parenting, family violence or mental health concerns, noting three years post-graduate direct counselling experience is required for our EAP clients. A tertiary qualification at degree level in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline is essential. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to effectively develop and maintain partnerships, networks and client relationships.

You will be required to hold a current Working with Vulnerable Persons’ Registration, current Australian driver’s licence, and maintain eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
