Wheatfields Residential Care is expanding!
We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate people who have either qualifications and experience in Aged Care or who have an interest in working in Aged Care, to join our team in a variety of casual roles.
Over the next 2 years the number of our beds will increase from 45 to 72 incorporating 5 cottages which have been designed with the aim of delivering high quality care to all our existing and future residents. So there is a big need to staff this exciting expansion.
Come and join our team of dedicated workers where Person Centered Care is the central focus of how we provide quality care at Wheatfields.
If you are at school , leaving school or looking at a career change and would love to work with the elderly, we also are offering Traineeships in Certificate 3, Personal Care Worker and VET programs for year 10-12 students.
Requirements of the role

Must enjoy working with the elderly

Involves day-to-day clinical, personal and environmental care of the residents

Develop and maintain a close working relationship with all staff in a team environment
-
Have a good understanding of the responsibilities of working in a team environment where best practice is reflected in each staff member’s work ethic.

Well organized and able to cope in a dynamic changing environment.

Committed to maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for both residents and staff.

Knowledge or awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and Quality Assurance.

A current National Police Certificate for the purpose of Aged Care or willingness to obtain one.

Current vaccination records
Attributes for the role:

Previous experience in Aged Care highly desirable but not essential

Attention to detail.

Willingness to learn

Effective and efficient time management.

Ability to understand the concept of promoting and maintaining dignity in the elderly.

Ability to relate, empathise and build relationships with the resident’s and their families.

Knowledge or awareness Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Accreditation Standards and an understand of the Charter of Aged Care Rights.
