Wharf Attendant – Port Lincoln
AmSpec Australia is a market leader in providing Terminal and Jetty Manning Services to the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industries.
Position available:
We are seeking an experienced Wharf Attendant to provide Wharf Attendant Services in Port Lincoln.
Casual shift positions will include various day, evening, weekend shifts and occasional public holidays based on shipping movements and requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Wharf Attendants are responsible for safe monitoring of ship discharges and pipeline transfers of petroleum and chemical products as well as;
- Execute ship loading/discharge plans (under supervision)
- Liaise with tank farm and ship operations
- Hose watch and operational incident response
- Wharf line walks and safety checks
- Connect/disconnect gangway
- Connect/disconnect loading arm and transfer hoses
Essential Requirements:
- Petrochemical industry experience
- Working knowledge of oil terminals and storage facilities
- Valid Australian Driver’s License
- MSIC card (or willingness to obtain)
- Must have the right to live and work in Australia
- Be able and willing to work outdoors during adverse weather conditions
- Fit and able to climb vessel gangways, stairs, ladders, etc.
- Must be flexible to work day shifts, evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays
- Must have a Positive attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
- Ability to make sound decisions and be a clear communicator
- High Risk License such as Forklift or Dogman/Rigger would be an advantage
