About the role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter/Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a well-established role at our Thevenard terminal. You will have the opportunity to use your mechanical skills to ensure fixed and mobile plant and equipment is maintained to the highest standard, while focusing on safety. Maximising uptime is critical to ensuring we can deliver an efficient and reliable service to our customers.
This role will also provide you with day-to-day variety and problem solving, while also incorporating long term planning projects as part of our preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
To support shipping and site activities, we are seeking an individual to DIDO / FIFO from a suitable location; or to live locally and work a 7-day, week on week off roster arrangement. Under both options will participate in an on-call roster that will include weeknights and weekends.
Duties
- Work with the maintenance team to identify and implement plant improvements and future capital projects.
- Execute the preventative maintenance program in line with site operations.
- Complete mechanical upgrades and improvements on fixed and mobile plant.
- Fault finding and repairs for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and pneumatic systems.
About you
- Trade Certificate – mechanical, fitting and fabrication all considered
- Bearing technology and lubrication techniques
- Competent in interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
- Knowledge and experience with installation, commissioning and fault finding of diesel, hydraulic and pneumatic installations is highly desired
- Ability to work at heights and within confined and restricted spaces
- Previous experience with power transmission maintenance and fault finding
- Current drivers’ licence is essential
- A forklift license, desirable
- MR Truck license, desirable
