Chief Health Officer & General Manager Public Health Division
About the role
Provide strategic leadership in population health, promote health protection and prevention, and deliver high-level public health advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Minister for Health and other government agencies. Lead the Public Health Division and fulfill statutory functions under NT legislation.
• Provide strategic policy advice on public and environmental health matters
• Lead the Public Health Division's work across multiple portfolios
• Monitor standards of population health services throughout NT
• Ensure compliance with public health legislation and standards
• Represent NT in national public health planning and policy forums
Skills & Experience
• Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (Public Health Medicine)
• Senior management experience in public health
• Knowledge of government processes and strategic policy
• Experience advising on complex public health issues
• Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Understanding of EEO, Disability Services and WHS legislation
