About the Opportunity
Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (UHS) is seeking a Driver / Facilities Officer for a permanent contract at our central health precinct located 270 kilometres NE of Alice Springs on the Urapuntja Homelands. Our goal is the provide the highest standard of primary health care to the Alywarr communities, the First Nations people of Utopia Homelands. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the role will primarily undertake patient drop off/pick up for the Health Service to communities within the Urapuntja Homelands. They may undertake patient transport to Alice Springs on a rostered (weekly) basis; relocation of the mobile clinic (if appropriately licenced); and will be undertake facilities/ maintenance tasks as allocated by the Facilities Manager, as required.

Our Footprint and Facilities:
The Urapuntja Health Service is in Amengernterneah, 23 km north of Arlparra, off the Sandover Highway. Our Health Service team (comprising Clinical and Mental Health and Wellbeing Teams) provide services through our main clinic and Wellbeing Centre at Amengernterneah and as a mobile outreach team, visiting 900-1000 residents of 16 Homeland communities. The Health Service is set in an area of natural beauty, with comfortable accommodation for our staff including a well-equipped and modern clinic, a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre, men and women’s centres, and a gym. Salary
- Base Salary $59,436 per annum, plus superannuation, for a 37.5 hour week
- additional $14,859.00 per annum on-call support allowance as support driver to clinical team
- retention bonuses from 3% to 8% per annum (increasing over time)

Rostering conditions
- a “swing cycle”/roster of 6 weeks working on site followed by 2 weeks paid leave

About You
- Ability to work cooperatively and independently
- Undertake all duties in a diligent manner, with honesty and integrity
- Always be well-presented, friendly, courteous and obliging
- Current Australian unrestricted drivers’ licence (manual), MR preferred
- Forklift licence well regarded
- Sound mechanical knowledge and understanding of maintenance requirements for 4WD vehicles
- Must have ability to be able to undertake field repairs such tyre changes whilst on the road
- Excellent communication skills, in particular, the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
- Current NT Ochre card (working with children check), or ability to acquire same
- Vaccinations as clinically required
- undertake other responsibilities as reasonably requested by the management in accordance with your skills and qualifications.
National Police Clearance (within 3 months) and NT Ochre Card (working with children) is mandatory for this position. We will assist with application and cost of checks.
