About the Opportunity
At Metcash Food, we're the power behind local business, proudly supplying over 1600 independently owned stores in every corner of Australia and New Zealand. With a range of trusted independent brands like IGA, Foodland and Campbells/C-Store, our stores sit at the heart of their communities, providing locals with the products and homegrown produce they love most.
We are looking for a Branch Buyer to be responsible for our Purchase stock to ensure correct stock levels are maintained. The role would require you to work 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday.
In this Role
- Purchase process through daily Buyer Reports
- Purchase Orders to be placed to meet timeframe of Supplier delivery process
- Ensure minimum stock levels are met, where possible, to minimize out of stocks
- Liaise with Suppliers on release dates of new lines to ensure stock in IG warehouse for speed to market
- Ensure Supplier minimum buys are met for FIS terms
- Manage Excess and Discontinued Lines
You're Likely a Match If
- Previous experience in procurement preferably within FMCG
- Experience in wholesale/retail operations, within grocery/food service or liquor industry
- Knowledge of OH&S and HACCP regulations
- High-level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with figures
- Demonstrated intermediate-to-advanced skills in MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
- Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
- Well organized and able to multitask
- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Willingness to learn
