We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate and a Senior Associate to join our growing Funds & Financial Services teamin our Melbourne office.
About the work and the team

Our experienced and highly regarded partners within our Corporate & Commercial and Funds & Financial Services teams advise some of the largest superannuation funds and most sophisticated global and national fund managers, investors, family offices, corporates and government entities.

You will be involved in advising clients on investment funds, superannuation, private equity, financial services compliance, regulation and licensing, financial product distribution, fund mergers and divestments, outsourcing, operational and commercial matters, governance and financial accountability regimes, ASIC and APRA regulatory matters and disputes.

Assist trustees, APRA regulated entities, fund managers and investors navigate legal issues in the rapidly expanding financial services Industry across all asset classes, including equities, bonds, property, alternatives, infrastructure, derivatives, carbon trading, cash and non-cash payment facilities. You will assist with disclosure, contracting, due diligence and licensing.

You will be familiar with the Corporations Act (chapters 5 and 7) and Superannuation law, and will enjoy front-end transactional and advisory matters, regulatory and disputes work.

Our team has significant transactional, regulatory and governance experience, and advises on environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of investments and disclosure.

About you
-
You will have between 4 to 7 years' experience gained at a well-regarded mid to top-tier firm.

Experience in financial services, funds and superannuation is essential.

A passion for innovation and technology and a strong work ethic are essential.

Whilst we are open to considering candidates with in-house experience our preferred candidate will have spent the majority of their career in private practice.

We are open to looking at candidates who are looking for a step-up role.
