Reporting to the Safety and Security Manager at our Leura Campus, you will join a team of passionate staff who are playing their part in making sure that we are here to deliver an exceptional learning experience for students. The Duty Manager is responsible for the Safety and Security of the Blue Mountains Leura Campus during and after business hours and provides support where necessary to students. The role requires the ability to problem solve, manage emergencies such as student, staff and visitor health issues, critical incidents and other general issues outlined within this document. On a typical day in this role, you will be responsible for:- Implementing BMIHMS policies and procedures (e.g. Emergency, Code of Conduct, First Aid).
- Managing student/staff/visitor safety and wellbeing in line with WHS guidelines.
- Conducting classroom checks (cleanliness, furniture setup, no food/drinks).
- Tidying key areas (classrooms, games room, gym, photocopy rooms, kitchenette, smoking area, kitchen).
- Performing night lock-up and securing high-risk areas (gym, pool, kitchens, offices).
- Completing 2-hourly rounds and addressing Code of Conduct breaches.
- Ensuring no unauthorised persons are on campus.
- Communicating with Duty Managers at shift handover (verbal and written reports).
- Keeping DM phone on hand and responding promptly.
- Ensuring the DM office is clean and orderly at end of shift.
This role is perfect for people looking for extra income or wanting to top up the existing schedule. Our preference will be applicants with experience in medical or emergency services, security or hospitality. Working with children is required. To be successful in this position you will have:
