About the Role:
Techforce are currently seeking an experienced SMP Field Engineer (Structural, Mechanical, and Piping) to support a large-scale project based in Darwin. This role offers a great opportunity to join a leading contractor on a high-profile energy project. The contract is short-term with strong potential for extension depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site engineering support across all SMP scopes to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Oversee and coordinate daily field activities, ensuring alignment with drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to manage progress and resolve any technical issues.
- Review and contribute to work packs, risk assessments, and construction planning documents.
- Conduct inspections and ensure works are performed in line with project specifications and HSE regulations.
- Act as a key point of contact for site-based SMP engineering issues.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in an SMP Field Engineer role, preferably on LNG, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
- Solid understanding of structural, mechanical, and piping systems in a construction environment.
- Ability to work efficiently on a FIFO roster and deliver under tight project schedules.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering and any applicable industry certifications.
