We 're on the hunt for a Climate-Smart Agrilcuture Officer to lead the delivery of hands-on workshops that empower land managers to adopt sustainable practices and plan for a resilient future. Working closely with our Stewardship Teams, this role plays a key part in promoting best-practice land, water, and biodiversity management. Join us in supporting landholders to care for country while building a thriving, climate-resilient agricultural landscape.

As the Climate-Smart Agriculture Officer, you will:
  • Deliver engaging, in-person workshops on climate-smart agriculture aligned with Stewardship Program priorities.
  • Support land managers to adopt sustainable practices that build resilience and long-term productivity.
  • Promote property planning to enhance decision-making for land, water, and biodiversity management.
  • Build strong relationships with farmers, industry groups, First Nations communities, and government stakeholders.
  • Track and report on project outcomes, budgets, and achievements in line with funding requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Stewardship Team to deliver regionally relevant, impactful education initiatives.
About You:-
  • You have knowledge and experience in land management and sustainable agriculture, including property planning and climate-smart practices.
  • You’re a confident communicator, able to present, write, and engage with a variety of audiences.
  • You enjoy facilitating workshops and education activities that build the capacity of farmers and land managers.
  • You’re great at building partnerships and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • You’re solutions-focused and take initiative to drive positive outcomes for people and the environment.
  • You bring strong organisational skills and can manage projects, timelines, and budgets effectively.
  • You value relationships, cultural understanding, and the importance of connecting land managers with First Nations perspectives.

The Details:
  • One full-time (37.5 hrs/per week) position.
  • Term position to 30 June 2026, available immediately.
  • Located in Mount Barker, South Australia
Remuneration:
ASO5 - $85,790 - $95,413 per annum

Special Conditions
  • This role has been designated a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework and requires a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to employment.
  • Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit)
