We are currently looking for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience who is seeking flexibility, autonomy and purpose-driven work. With flexible working arrangements and a collaborative environment, this role supports work-life balance while contributing to meaningful projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller and the Finance Business Partner in ensuring financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes.
- Accounts payable and receivable: process and maintain accurate records of transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Bank reconciliations: perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
- Billing and invoicing: generate and issue invoices, and support project teams with queries and adjustments.
- General ledger: assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger.
- Audit: support external audits and internal reviews.
- Compliance: ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations.
- Expense management: Process and monitor company expenses and credit cards to ensure accurate documentation and approvals.
- System management: utilise accounting software and tools (e.g., Xero & Excel) to enter, track and report on financial data.
- Administrative support: provide general admin support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Key competencies and experience
- 3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance support role.
- Strong grasp of financial functions, including exposure to commercial financial systems and CRM software.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills functional level in other Microsoft packages.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is highly regarded.
