Job Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain drainage systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings, in accordance with building codes and specifications. This may involve excavating trenches, laying pipes, sealing joints, and connecting drainage systems to main sewer lines or other outlets.
- Conduct inspections to identify drainage issues, leaks, blockages, or potential problems in existing systems. Evaluate the condition of drainage components, such as pipes, drains, and gutters, and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Cut pipes to required lengths using various tools, such as pipe cutters, saws, or torches. Join pipes using appropriate methods, including soldering, welding, or gluing, and ensure secure connections to prevent leaks or malfunctions.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, or specifications to plan and lay out drainage systems. Determine the appropriate slope, grade, and alignment for effective water flow, considering factors such as soil conditions, building structure, and local regulations.
- Identify and troubleshoot drainage system issues, such as leaks, blockages, or improper water flow. Apply problem-solving techniques to diagnose the root cause and implement effective solutions.
