About the role
Adroit Piping Systems is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team. You will be required to use business knowledge to ensure the enterprise remains operational and profitable. This means looking at financial records, accounting practices, revenue, and other financial strategies to make sure the organisation is in a profitable position.

What you'll be doing

  1. Define and execute the strategic direction for Finance and Investment operations to achieve short-, medium-, and long-term objectives, encompassing financial management, accounting, budgeting, investment operations, and taxation across the organisation.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain high-quality financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the Finance function.
  3. Establish and enforce financial and accounting principles, procedures, and best practices in strict alignment with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  4. Ensure the preparation of accurate, timely financial reports and forecasts, providing clear insights into the organisation’s financial position to support strategic decision-making.
  5. Provide expert financial advisory on business decisions, including acquisitions, divestments, and capital investments, ensuring financial soundness and alignment with corporate objectives.
  6. Safeguard the company’s financial assets through the implementation of robust financial controls, management accounting systems, budgetary oversight, and expenditure control measures.
  7. Enforce policies to secure funds and assets, ensuring full compliance with statutory tax obligations, regulatory filings, and effective administration of insurance coverage and claims.
  8. Lead, mentor, and support the Finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.
  9. Act as a key member of the Executive Management Team, contributing to corporate strategy, financial sustainability, and long-term business growth.

What we're looking for

  1. Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification, with post-graduate qualifications highly regarded.
  2. 5 years plus experience as a CFO or in a senior financial position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Highly developed financial and management accounting skills, to a level required for a responsible person under ASIC regulations.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  5. Strong commercial acumen and strategic decision-making skills.
  6. Ability to influence and facilitate policy development processes whilst reflecting the respect and team values.
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills at Executive and Board level interaction, ensuring clear, effective messaging across all levels.
  8. Proficiency in relevant financial software and systems.
  9. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams with strong results orientation, resilience, and a positive, proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  10. Provide support and advice on business and financial matters to management and the board.
  11. 10 years relevant experience within a financial/accounting/investment environment.
  12. Demonstrate drive and ability to improve budgets, reporting, forecasting, internal controls, and prepare statutory financial and taxation statements.
  13. Understand complex commercial and contractual issues.
  14. In-depth understanding of investment management principles, practices, and financial markets.
  15. Comprehensive knowledge of statutory financial and taxation reporting requirements.
  16. A tertiary accounting or business qualification in a relevant field.
  17. Ability to take a broad view of the overall operations, goals, and performance of the Group; with creative and forward-looking ability to think outside the box for solutions.
  18. Well-developed ethical standards and high personal integrity, with a focus on always acting in the best interest of members, even at the expense of personal goals.
  19. Proactive approach to professional and organisational development, fostering enthusiasm and professionalism in others.
