  • Stream A Level 6 - $100,017 per annum + superannuation
  • $6,000 relocation bonus for suitable candidate
  • + 17.5% annual leave loading
  • + 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for:

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated financial professional to provide leadership and expert support across Council’s financial services.

In this dynamic role, you'll lead key financial projects, support strategic budgeting and reporting, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

You’ll collaborate across departments to enhance systems and processes, develop financial models, and deliver accurate, timely reporting to support informed decision-making.

What your day will look like:

  • Take the lead role in projects managed by Financial Services.
  • Determine scope, develop project plan, budget and timeline for financial services projects.
  • Develop models and reporting tools for Financial Services as required.
  • Assist with graphs and analytics for Councillor budget sessions and budget presentations, and reviewing and development of budget reports
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial variance reports as required.
  • Assist with the coordination of the end of year audit process including the development of an audit plan/timetable and monitoring of timeframes.
  • Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders throughout project.

What you’ll need for success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting (or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Local Government procedures and legislation, Australian Accounting Standards, regulations and other relevant acts and legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Ability to provide professional advice to key business areas within Council to facilitate project delivery, systems and process improvements.
  • Highly developed computer skills in the operation of financial systems.
  • Effective time management skills, including but not limited to, working independently, setting priorities, setting and meeting deadlines and organising own workloads.

What’s nice to have:

  • CPA or equivalent
