DescriptionThe Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding across the learning area, including the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE),, International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and experience in EAL.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of inspiring students to achieve academic success in English.
The role requires a deep commitment to student-centred learning, curriculum innovation, and assessment best practices.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position (6 months) covering a period of leave. The role will commence in Term 3, 2025.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons for VCE, IB and EAL students.
- Prepare students for VCE/IB assessments and exams, providing guidance on exam techniques, essay writing, and critical analysis.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a love for literature.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and student outcomes.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and co-curricular activities as required.
- Relevant Teaching Qualification
- Proven success teaching English, specifically within the VCE, IB and/or EAL curriculum
- Strong knowledge of English literature, language, and critical theory
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
